Privacy and cookies

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Signum Average is built to know as little about its readers as possible.

No accounts, no tracking. You cannot register or log in. We run no analytics, no advertising and no social-media trackers, and we do not build profiles of readers.

Cookies. This website sets no cookies. That is why you see no cookie banner.

Saved articles. The Save button keeps a list of articles in your own browser, using its local storage. The list never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can clear it on the Saved articles page or in your browser's settings.

Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and basic request details in order to deliver pages and to block abuse. We do not use these records to identify readers.

Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads and Google receives your IP address.

Links to other sites. Our data is published on GitHub, and we link to our sources. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Writing to us. The contact form and the "Want to go deeper?" form under each article do not send anything to our website. Pressing Send opens your own email app with the message filled in, and the message reaches us only if you send it. We then hold your email address and what you wrote, in our mailbox at Proton Mail, for as long as we need to reply and to keep a record of requests and corrections. We do not add you to any list and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Newsletter and donations. Neither is open yet. When they are, this page will say which service handles them and what it stores.

Questions. Write to thesignumaverage@proton.me. We will tell you what, if anything, we hold about you and delete it on request.
